Daytrips - York County Hot-Air Balloon Festival, June 16-18, 2006, Page 3

A pile of balloons getting ready !!

The Purple People Eater again . . !!

Standing under the Purple People Eater.

Right after I took this image, I turned around, walked out from under this balloon to take pictures of others and was captured by a reporter for the local newspaper, the York Daily Record. I appeared on the front page of the Sunday Living section . . . !!

This is one of the smaller balloons - the basket is triangular and holds perhaps three people maximum.

The top of the balloon to the left while inflating - the colored panel in the center is the "deflation valve."

A number of balloons under-way.

The 84 Lumber balloon again - taking off just an hour before sunset - you can see the flame from the burner The square shiny thing is thermal protection for the flap behind the flame. The flap protects the flame from wind blowing it into the fabric.

This balloon doesn't have the flap but it has a larger opening - you can see the flame and the glow in the lower part of the balloon.

This is "Pokey" the turtle hot-air balloon - I only saw this one twice and was unable to Google more info on it.

I lied. Just more Balloons in this one. The "Glow" is next . . !
