Sarasota Jungle Gardens

A female Mallard (Anas platyrhynchos). A common duck that ranges over most of North America.

A male Mallard - the mate of the female on the left. The Mallards are what's called a dabbling duck - one that feeds by "dabbling" for surface forage or upending in the shallows to feed off the bottom.

An exotic species of Parrot (family: Psittacidae) donated to the gardens.

Another exotic species of Parrot donated to the gardens.
