A Message from the Organizers of Winter Range - On Food

If the way to a cowboy's (or cowgirl's) heart is through his stomach, you need to seriously check out this year's Winter Range dinner menus. Survey responses from the last few years have requested a change from the same old cowboy grub. Well, we've listened and I think you will be more than satisfied with our new caterers and their offerings. Don't forget, food court vendors will stay open late Thursday and Friday nights for dinner prior to the evening festivities; and yes, the Rough Rider Saloon will open Wednesday through Saturday as soon as the range is declared cold.

Find the Menus HERE in the Rough Rider Range Report.

A Message from Too Tall Bob about the Pima Pistol Cowboys -

We would like to introduce ourselves to you and let you know of another opportunity to put lead down range in Arizona. We shoot on the 2nd Saturday of every month at the Pima Pistol Club just north of Tucson. There are some of you who winter in Arizona and may be looking for an additional place to shoot CAS. Attached you will find an introduction letter as well as a document describing PRACTISCORE sign up and directions on how to get to our range. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me directly at either of the ways listed below.

Local Events Coming Soon

January is going to start the Cowboy season rather gently. That is, just a normal month of shooting.

February, on the other hand, will test your skills and your endurance.

The Pima Cowboys will set up their Saturday, February 8 match to try to accommodate those Cowboys that don't make it to ACSA for their two, one day shoots and will add TWO stages for a total of EIGHT STAGES! You'll need your endurance for that one!

That weekend of February 8-9 will see ACSA hosting two 6-stage matches, one Saturday and one Sunday. As of now, Saturday is full with 120 shooters and Sunday is getting close with 105. The Shooter List is HERE. There is a wait-list so if you wish, send in your application now as there is sure to be some drop-outs. The Application is available HERE.

The next weekend, February 15-16, will be the 2020 AZ WB Championship at Cowtown. The application can be found HERE. Zona is Match Director so you can expect some challenging and fun stages.

The weekend after that, February 22-23 is 2020 Fire & Ice at Cowtown. This match is sold out but there is a wait-list. There will be some drop-outs so if you wish, the application can be found HERE.

The next day, February 24, the 2020 edition of Winter Range gets underway with the 10-Stage SASS Wild Bunch Championship on Monday and Tuesday, Side matches and Warm up on Wednesday, and then the Main Cowboy match on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The 2020 WR Home page is HERE and the 2020 Application can be found HERE. If you want to check out the current WR activities, Download the Rough Rider Range Report.

If anyone has news that would be of interest to the other Cowboy shooters in Arizona, please email me with details and I will publish the information in the next newsletter.
